How to make chicken dill salad baguette
- Prepare the ingredients. Mince the red onions, slice the chicken breast, then season it with a pinch of salt and pepper. Steam over a pot of boiling water for 12-15 minutes.

- Meanwhile, prepare the mixed vegetables.

- When the chicken breast is cooked, chop into small cubes. Transfer them to a large bowl, then add in minced onions, chopped cucumbers, and homemade yogurt dill sauce. Mix to combine and set aside.

- Slice the baguette in half, then sear them with some butter in a pan until golden-brown crisp.

- To assemble, place romaine lettuce at the bottom, then sliced tomatoes, and the chicken dill salad over them. Sprinkle extra freshly chopped dill on top.

How long does it take to steam the chicken breast?
This depends on the size of the chicken breast. To cook it more quickly and easily, I sliced the chicken breast into pieces, and it took about 12-15 minutes to steam. You could always check if it’s cooked by piercing a chopstick through the thickest part. If it goes entirely through the meat, then it’s fully cooked.

Tips on preparing cucumbers
First, chop off the tips of the cucumber. Then swirl the ends on the cut-side surface until you see some white bubbles appearing. Rinse the cucumber then chop into cubes. This step allows you to remove the slight bitterness and the veggie taste of the cucumber!

Popular substitutions & additions
- Switch out the dill: If you’re not a fan of dill, you can try using basil, parsley, or coriander instead. These also go well with the salad!
- Substitute with other proteins: You can make a variation of this salad by switching up the chicken breast and using shrimps, tuna, or salmon instead.
- Additional toppings: To further bring this baguette up to the next level, you can even add in some grilled bacon and mushrooms for an extra flavourful and fulfilling experience.

This chicken dill salad baguette combines the savoury goodness of tender chicken, the refreshing crunch of crisp vegetables, and the aromatic allure of dill, all nestled within a perfectly crusty baguette. Offering a satisfying and indulgent experience with every bite, it is quick and easy to make, and is perfect for a relaxing, healthy, and rejuvenating meal.
