Instructions

For the overnight oats base

  • In a jar or bowl, add in rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and maple syrup.
  • Mix until well combined, cover with a lid, and refrigerate overnight.

Matcha strawberry overnight oats

  • Sift matcha powder into a bowl, then add in hot water over the matcha.
  • Use a whisk or a bamboo whisk (chasen) to mix in a "W" motion until smooth and frothy. Tip: soak the chasen in warm water before whisking for easier blending.
  • In a jar, add in diced strawberries, overnight oats base, and whisked matcha, then mix everything together. Cover with a lid, and soak overnight.
  • (Optional) The next morning top with some more diced strawberries, and dust extra matcha powder over them.

Mixed berry overnight oats

  • Prepare the mixed berry compote. In a pot, add in blueberries, raspberries, diced strawberries, and vanilla extract.
  • Bring the pot to the stovetop, and heat over medium-low heat. Use a spatula to smash and squeeze out the juices while stirring.
  • Simmer the mixture until it thickens.
  • Let the compote cool slightly, then add it together with the overnight oats base to a jar. Give it a mix, cover with a lid, and refrigerate overnight.
  • (Optional) The next morning top with crunchy granola (I used mixed berry nut granola that perfect fits this flavour combo!), and fresh berries.

Apple cinnamon overnight oats

  • In a jar, add in diced apples, overnight oats base, and cinnamon powder, then mix everything together. Cover with a lid, and soak overnight.
  • (Optional) The next morning top with some more diced apples, and dust extra cinnamon powder over them.

Peach mango overnight oats

  • In a jar, add in chopped peach and mango as the base, then layer half portion of overnight oats base, more peach and mango, and the rest of the overnight oats base.
I made it this way for a parfait-like breakfast! You can simple mix everything together like how I’ve done with the other flavour options above.
  • Cover with a lid, and let it sit overnight.
  • (Optional) The next morning top with some more chopped peach and mango. You could even add in some coconut flakes for a tropical twist.
