Golden-brown crisp on the outside, ooey-gooey inside, this caramelised cheese toast is the next-level indulgence. It is perfectly sweet and savoury, with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 slices bread
  • Mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preparation: Mix together brown sugar and butter softened at room temperature. Spread a thin layer evenly on a piece of bread.
  • Make the sandwich: Place a generous amount of cheese on another piece of bread, then close the sandwich with the brown sugar butter spread facing top.
  • Cook the toast: Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Transfer the sandwich with the brown sugar butter layer facing down, then spread the remaining brown sugar butter evenly on the other piece of bread. Sear until golden-brown, flip the sandwich, and sear the other side until caramelised and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve immediately: Transfer the caramelised cheese toast to a serving plate, and slice into bite-sized squares. Enjoy!
